This book it was a nightmare for me and definitely is one of the worst books I've ever read。 Full of definitions of definitions。 Full of bullets。 Full of repetitive information。 This book it was a nightmare for me and definitely is one of the worst books I've ever read。 Full of definitions of definitions。 Full of bullets。 Full of repetitive information。 。。。more

Great Deal! The ebook A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) 6th Edition is just what I wanted。It is a full book for a cheap price。 That is an awesome deal!!!I have not read it yet because I need it for an upcoming class。 So, I will not be using it until the class starts。So, I cannot say if the content is compelling or not。 From the chapter titles, it seems like the information should be interesting。 We shall see。Buy the ebook A Guide to the Project Management Body of K Great Deal! The ebook A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) 6th Edition is just what I wanted。It is a full book for a cheap price。 That is an awesome deal!!!I have not read it yet because I need it for an upcoming class。 So, I will not be using it until the class starts。So, I cannot say if the content is compelling or not。 From the chapter titles, it seems like the information should be interesting。 We shall see。Buy the ebook A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) 6th Edition 。。。more

I have mixed thoughts on the PMBOK Guide。 I really would give it 3。5 stars。 I am a PMP so I had to read this to study for the PMP exam。 The guide tries to present PM processes like mathematical equations like A+B = C where A are inputs to the process, B is tools and techniques, and C are the outputs of the process。 I understand why they had to do this。 They are trying to present the information so that it's general across multiple applications areas like construction, IT, healthcare, etc。 Howeve I have mixed thoughts on the PMBOK Guide。 I really would give it 3。5 stars。 I am a PMP so I had to read this to study for the PMP exam。 The guide tries to present PM processes like mathematical equations like A+B = C where A are inputs to the process, B is tools and techniques, and C are the outputs of the process。 I understand why they had to do this。 They are trying to present the information so that it's general across multiple applications areas like construction, IT, healthcare, etc。 However, the way it's written is not really straight forward。 If you understand the charts with the knowledge areas and process groups and understand how outputs from one are used as inputs to others, you should do fine on at the PMP exam。 This book and the exam are getting revamped in 2021 though, so that statement may not be true for much longer。 I will read the next edition to see how it has improved or made worse。 I think it's important to understand what is in the PM guide because it was developed to help the PM and organizations complete projects on time and in budget。 。。。more

I did not have time to finish, but I will say the book was not as bad as many had led me to believe。 A bit too much in the passive voice, but still really informative。 I got through about 400-500 pages of the book。 I really loved the examples from real life and the diagrams。The digital copy, though, gets 1 Star。 Due to the DRM, I could not truly download it onto my iPad or computer。 My session would regularly time out, then I would need to re-login to pmi。org, re-find the PMBOK Guide, type in my I did not have time to finish, but I will say the book was not as bad as many had led me to believe。 A bit too much in the passive voice, but still really informative。 I got through about 400-500 pages of the book。 I really loved the examples from real life and the diagrams。The digital copy, though, gets 1 Star。 Due to the DRM, I could not truly download it onto my iPad or computer。 My session would regularly time out, then I would need to re-login to pmi。org, re-find the PMBOK Guide, type in my password again, "download" the LARGE file, type in my password again, then find my page。 If I changed the rotation of my iPad, the document would go to a random page (usually several hundred away from where I just was)。 Every time I sat down to study, I had to spend 10 minutes (at least) on this activity, that I would've preferred to spend on reading the book! Considering every page had my name as a water mark, I'm not sure why I was unable to load it permanently onto any of my systems。 I would like to keep it as a handy reference, but with the current DRM, that's just not practical。 (and I'm not interested in tips to circumvent the DRM - that is PMI。org's choice, and it would not be ethical to override it)。 。。。more

There is a lot of material in this book, more than can be covered in a school semester。 I read every page but can honestly say that I might have retained about a quarter or less。 It will be a great reference, but the material is just so dry。I use it almost every day to look something up, and it will be a great addition to my daily work life, but it is hard to stay focused while reading it。 It is written well and provides a ton of information。 I would recommend it for anyone at any level that wan There is a lot of material in this book, more than can be covered in a school semester。 I read every page but can honestly say that I might have retained about a quarter or less。 It will be a great reference, but the material is just so dry。I use it almost every day to look something up, and it will be a great addition to my daily work life, but it is hard to stay focused while reading it。 It is written well and provides a ton of information。 I would recommend it for anyone at any level that wants to understand all the ins and outs of Project management。 。。。more

Critical resource if you are considering sitting for either the CAPM or PM certification。 It is also a good resource if you interact with Project Managers on a regular basis。

Fingers crossed I pass the test 😊 it was much easier to grasp the nuances in the book after having been through a boot camp。 But it is dry as kindling and won't teach you how to actually be a project manager。 Fingers crossed I pass the test 😊 it was much easier to grasp the nuances in the book after having been through a boot camp。 But it is dry as kindling and won't teach you how to actually be a project manager。 。。。more

This is NOT exactly a page turner。 So it was a few pages at a time。 I used the Kindle version and some of the carts are pretty grainy and don't blow up well。 The material can be repetitious。 but that's understandable。 Figured I go to the source for my PMP exam prep。 I've been using an online course to refresh my memory。 I started training for the PMP over a decade ago, but got off course over the years。 I have been using material from here to coach a new PM, and it's helpful。 Hopefully, this has This is NOT exactly a page turner。 So it was a few pages at a time。 I used the Kindle version and some of the carts are pretty grainy and don't blow up well。 The material can be repetitious。 but that's understandable。 Figured I go to the source for my PMP exam prep。 I've been using an online course to refresh my memory。 I started training for the PMP over a decade ago, but got off course over the years。 I have been using material from here to coach a new PM, and it's helpful。 Hopefully, this has been good prep for the exam。 We'll see。。。。。 。。。more

Really informative。 It is the bible to all things project management。 But the anti-copying attempts make it and eyesore to read and digest。 Hardly useable for the day to day。

I was so excited to dig into some new learning but was disappointed in the dry delivery of this information。 Even the gray color of the pages made me frustrated。 There were few interesting examples and the pages were lacking for anyone who is a visual learner。 Thankfully there will be a new edition soon because there's plenty of room for improvements。 I passed my exam and don't plan to revisit this book anytime soon。 I was so excited to dig into some new learning but was disappointed in the dry delivery of this information。 Even the gray color of the pages made me frustrated。 There were few interesting examples and the pages were lacking for anyone who is a visual learner。 Thankfully there will be a new edition soon because there's plenty of room for improvements。 I passed my exam and don't plan to revisit this book anytime soon。 。。。more
